My latest view find on Find Art Buy Art is an artist/guitar maker. Tim Tron has not posted many of his photos on his blog, but the guitars he has posted are beautiful and well-crafted. His acoustic guitar is almost divine. I love the woods he used. However, he does claim it will be his last. As he described it, making it “was a total son of a bitch”. However, I believe he should keep at it and it will become easier, like all things.
In other FABA-related news, I created a myspace page for the site. So friends of FABA, join the myspace as well, no one will be denied! And please, help us to promote the website.

Kirsten Ashley
Recently, I came across an artist on Find Art Buy Art by the name of Kirsten Ashley. She has posted several of her works on her blog; my favorite of which is a piece titled Hollow Eyed. It’s a mixed-media piece using acrylics and oil pastels. The most beautiful thing about this particular piece of art is her use of colors and textures. She keeps most of the colors in the range of purple and blue, without over-doing it. She has a talent for highlights and shadows that don’t naturally stand out to the eye, but rather make the work look natural, and almost realistic. The textures are also very beautiful, the subject’s dress being the most noticeable. The swirling pattern that Kirsten uses makes the dress look almost satin and seem to flow naturally over the body. Kirsten is definitely an artist to look out for in the future.

Recently, my father and step-mother started up and website for artists, Find Art, Buy Art. I’ve been a member of the site for quite some time, but recently became more involved. Part of my involvement was to begin posting my own artwork on the website, which you can view in my blog.
As this is my first entry in a brand new blog, I would like to talk a little about the site. It, like other similar sites, allows an artist to post information about him or herself as well as display their art. Eventually, my parents’ goal is to allow their members to sell their art for only a small commission as opposed to those prices set by gallery owners.
I hope that soon I might be able to write a better blog as I get to know the other artists on the site.
